Thankful for Glen Broom
November is a special month. Not only is a month when we traditionally reflect on all we’re thankful for - it is the birth month of our center’s namesake Dr. Glen M. Broom.
When you look at the picture of 3 year old Glen, you can’t help but wonder if back then people could see how special he was. No doubt his easy going personality was already brightening up rooms with laughs and smiles. I can’t imagine anyone could predict that he would shape the profession of public relations, and become the professor of the profession.
Yet, he did and he is.
The contributions Dr. Broom made to PR to push the profession forward are something we are thankful for everyday.
In honor of the birthday boy’s legacy, the Broom Center is investing in the projects that Dr. Broom loved the most.
- Funding students’ first-ever full PR campaigns
- Enabling junior faculty research through seed grants
If you want to be a part of these projects, we could use your help. Please consider a small gift to the Broom Center. Whether your gift is the amount it might cost to buy a birthday cake or maybe enough to cover the sort of bicycle a young Glen would like, your gift will create real opportunities for people who working toward creating their own legacies in PR.
