No one disputes the power of a mentor … Harvard Business Review points to mentoring leading to helping junior professionals promoting more quickly, earning a higher salary and even being happier in their jobs and life than those without mentors.
You can’t just order a mentor on Amazon, and while there are great resources on how be a mentor the process does not come with an instruction manual.
The upcoming 3P career tour webinar is going to help you crack that code on mentoring.
This panel gets some of the brightest luminaries in PR to sit down and talk about mentoring. Scott Pansky, the co-founder of Allison+Partners, will chat with:
- Walmart’s Javier Angulo is the senior director of community relations
- Oracle’s Ashley Hart is a senior vice president & the global marketing leader of the Oracle Cloud Platform
- Southwest’s Linda Rutherford is a senior vice president & chief communications officer
- UPS’ Charlene Thomas is a chief diversity, equity & inclusion officer
An ASL interpreter will be present, ensuring greater access of this webinar for our community.
More Than Just a Webinar Topic
Since we started the 3P series, we’ve been using the webinars to invest in the careers of future practitioners.
- After our first webinar in May 2020, many 3P panelists opened up their calendars to schedule virtual coffee dates with students who wanted more advice on how to stand out in the job market.
- Coca-Cola’s Debbie Ebalobo, a panelist from our PR with purpose event in December 2020, started monthly office hours every Third Thursday after her 3P experience. Jump into her next Third Thursday Teams meeting on May 20 at 9:30 a.m. PT/12:30 p.m. ET.
- To thank the Quinnipiac University PRSSA chapter for being so motivated & bringing so many students to the December 2020 3P event, we made a donation to their chapter.
- We sponsored 4 PRSSA memberships for 4 first gen and HBCU students to show our gratitude after they logged in to attend the December 2020 3P webinar.
Mentors provide a platform to elevate a young professional. The up-and-coming practitioner still has to put in the work, but the mentor helps make sure others notice it.
Don’t let the title of mentor scare you into thinking you need a formal process. Get out there, and help lift up the next generation of PR.
