Elizabeth A. Pecsi, APR, Fellow PRSA, is an award-winning public relations and marketing communications leader with experience in higher education, technology, energy and professional services industries, domestic and global. Prior to becoming part-time staff and lecturer at San Diego State University, Professor Pecsi worked as director of executive communications for a global information technology and services company where she designed comprehensive global communications initiatives. These ranged from managing organizational change to enhancing customer satisfaction to planning product and service launches, and establishing an employee-led strategic business planning process.
For San Diego Gas & Electric, Professor Pecsi organized the first mid-size business-to-business energy management marketing contact plan, established the utility’s first comprehensive national media contact program and multi-ethnic marketing, advertising and media relations campaigns.
Professor Pecsi is a leader in the profession, having served on the national board of directors for the Public Relations Society of America; she also co-led strategic planning for PRSA and a task force to strengthen accreditation. Her community volunteer work includes: Our Lady of Grace Community, Crisis House, Academy of Our Lady of Peace, Father Joe’s Villages and Girls Scouts of America.
