Bio
Brandon Oliver is an Oakland, California native who graduated from Howard University in 2020. His bachelor's degree is in strategic, legal and management communications with a concentration in public relations and a minor in mathematics. Brandon is a diligent, reliable, enterprising individual who, upon entering the Cathy Hughes School of Communications, took every opportunity to immerse himself in the communication field.
During his time at Howard University, Brandon was the president of the Howard University chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America (HU PRSSA) for two years in a row and a student advisor for Howard University's Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF). He was also a member of the Howard University chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Howard University Association of Black Journalists (HUABJ) and the IPG Adopt-A-Team.
Out of all his accomplishments, Brandon’s proudest achievement was revitalizing Howard University’s PRSSA Chapter and increasing membership by over 250% during his first year as president. This achievement also led to him being awarded the 2019 PRSSA Service Award in recognition of outstanding service to the chapter.
Through various extracurricular activities, courses and internships, Brandon learned that he has a love for entertainment and a true passion for using his public relations expertise to build brands. He plans to use his expertise to help businesses, young entrepreneurs, and other notable figures build and enhance their brands.
Brandon's membership transition from PRSSA to PRSA was supported by the Broom Center as an investment in his future.
