Dr. Jiyoon (Karen) Han is an assistant professor of advertising in the School of Journalism and Media Studies at San Diego State University. Before joining the SDSU faculty, she was an assistant professor in the Department of Media at Ball State University. She is primarily interested in digital advertising effectiveness. Other research interests include digital media technologies and audience engagement, big data and artificial intelligence, influencer marketing, and health communication. Her work has been published in the International Journal of Advertising, Asian Journal of Communication, and Journal of Media Ethics, among others. She earned her Ph.D. in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.
