Dana Littlefield is an adjunct lecturer at SDSU and public safety editor at The San Diego Union-Tribune. After joining the U-T in 2000, she covered coastal cities in San Diego County before moving to the courts/legal beat. Littlefield has written about numerous high-profile civil and criminal cases and appeared many times on local and national television. A San Diego native, she earned her bachelor’s degree in American literature from the University of California Los Angeles and a master’s degree in mass communications from the University of Florida. Littlefield is a longtime member of the National Association of Black Journalists and was inaugural co-director of the JSHOP -- NABJ's high school journalism workshop -- in 2010. She now serves as a JSHOP mentor, and has worked with students in cities including San Diego, Philadelphia, Boston, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Boston, Detroit and Las Vegas.
