Bio
Gabriela Romero was the leader of the spring 2021 Glen M. Broom Center for Professional Development in Public Relations PR team. Under her leadership, the team planned a strategic campaign for the 4th annual Allen H. Center Distinguished Lecture in Public Relations. She led with organization and determination. The team won a PRSA San Diego/Imperial Counties Edward L. Bernays Award of Excellence in 2021 for their campaign.
Romero graduated from San Diego State University in December 2021 with a degree in public relations from the School of Journalism & Media Studies. She minored in rhetoric and writing studies.
While at SDSU, Romero held PR-related positions such as marketing and communication student assistant for the College of Professional Studies and Fine Arts at SDSU, vice president of Public Relations Student Society of America SDSU, director of communications for Running Club at SDSU and a copy editor for the digital magazine MidWave.
From increasing Instagram followers for the College of PSFA by 60% to executing a PRSSA SDSU headshot fundraiser to hosting virtual Running Club at SDSU team events, Romero is driven by her desire to unite others and sense of optimism.
