SJMS faculty member receives Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal

SJMS faculty member receives Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal SJMS public relations associate professor Dr. Kaye Sweetser, APR+M was presented the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (gold star in lieu of forth award) by Navy Vice Chief of Information Rear Admiral Robert Durand this weekend. Dr. Sweetser is an actively drilling Navy Reserve commander, currently serving as the officer-in-charge of Navy Reserve Public Affairs Support Element Hawaii. This award served as end-of-tour recognition from her last command and highlighted her meritorious service for projects such as in-depth media coding analysis of world events including management of more than 5,000 media items for six international exercises and maritime deployments. She was also recognized for managing more than 2,040 days of operational support in her unit to the fleet.
