Dr. Martha M. Lauzen holds a Ph.D. in Public Communication from the University of Maryland. She conducts academic and industry research on the role of women in television and film. The findings of her annual studies have been featured in trade publications (Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, MediaWeek) and the popular press (Los Angeles Times, TV Guide, Chicago Tribune, Dallas Morning News, Working Mother). She has authored numerous articles on the topic appearing in Television Quarterly, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, and Mass Communication & Society.
