Grammar, spelling, puctuation test
The Journalism pre-major, Public Relations pe-major, and Advertising pre-major require that students successfully pass the University Grammar, Spelling, and Punctuation (GSP) test. Currently, the Media Studies pre-major does not require the GSP.The Grammar, Spelling and Punctuation test is a way of determining whether or not students at San Diego State University have sufficient command of English to indicate probable success in the curricula and in related careers. The GSP consists of 100 multiple-choice questions in three areas: 33 questions covering grammar; 33 covering punctuation and the final 34 covering spelling. You need 80 (or more) correct to pass. It is a 90 minute timed test. You are allowed three attempts to pass the GSP.
For more information about the test or information about registration visit the SDSU Department of Testing.
