Internships
Undergraduate students are encouraged to pursue internships during their course of study. Undergraduate students interested in completing an internship should begin searching for one during the fall semester of their senior year. The internship is considered to be an elective class that will count toward undergraduate students' 9 required units of electives.

Graduate teaching assistantships
The School of Journalism & Media Studies offers selected graduate students the opportunity to be a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in one of the School’s undergraduate courses. GTA positions are the primary form of graduate student financial support offered by the School.

Associated Students
Associated Students of SDSU is an independent student-direct corporation that provides a wide variety of student services and programs.
Associated Students (A.S.) employs more than 1,000 students each year. Jobs are offered throughout the academic year, as well as during Winter and Summer sessions. Many departments offer flexible work shifts to accomodate your class schedule. Work in one of the many Programs and Services of A.S., from Recreation to Childcare to Performing Arts support staffing and more. Employment environments range from office settings to the great outdoors.

Aztec Shops, INC
The flagship of Aztec Shops’ retail operations is the SDSU Bookstore which is one of the largest sales volume campus bookstores in the country. The 25,000-square-foot facility – located in the heart of campus – carries every text (required and optional) for every class taught at SDSU.
Aztec Shops is the exclusive licensee for the San Diego State University logo and related images and the bookstore features the most extensive selection of SDSU-imprinted clothing and gifts available. The store also houses the Computer & Electronics Department, a full-service computer hardware and software department. A broad selection of school supplies, cards, gifts and graduation regalia round out the store’s offerings.
Aztec Shops is also responsible for all restaurants and other food service outlets on the SDSU campus. The corporation operates SDSU’s Meal Plan Program, residence hall dining programs, and their own branded restaurants. In addition to the varied restaurant options, Aztec Shops operates six convenience stores on campus, including a 3,000-square-foot store in East Commons. Aztec Dining Services’ Catering Department is the recognized caterer for all events on the SDSU campus.
Art Etc. is specialty store which features art supplies for both amateur and professional artists. Located in the South Art Building, Art Etc. carries all the course-related art supplies for students and basic supplies for professionals.
Aztec Shops operates Montezuma Publishing, which prints customized course materials and readers and is responsible for thesis and dissertation duplication and binding for SDSU's graduate students.

Recruiters representing business and industry, government, school districts and graduate schools come to campus to interview students for a variety of career positions and internships.
Opportunities exist for all students. Graduating seniors and graduate students should participate in on-campus interviews during their final year of regular enrollment.
