Public Accountability

The Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (ACEJMC) requires that all ACEJMC-accredited programs make publicly available information regarding student retention and graduation rates:

Of the 108 first-year students enrolled in the School of Journalism & Media Studies in fall 2011, 88.0% continued into the second year. In comparison, of the 3,970 first-year students enrolled at SDSU in fall 2011, 88.5% continued into the second year.

Of the 299 first-year students enrolled in the School of Journalism & Media Studies in fall 2007, 62.5% graduated in five years. In comparison, of the 5,559 first-year students enrolled at SDSU in fall 2007, 54.3% graduated in five years.
